Last update: June 2026 · Version 1.0
This English version is a working summary of the terms applicable to customers ordering from Le Ballon Normand. Pending review by an EU-qualified lawyer, the French version is the legally binding document. Any inconsistency between the two versions will be resolved in favour of the French text. The final EN T&Cs (with EU consumer law specifics and translated mediation clauses) will be published before launch.

The full French T&Cs apply to all orders placed on leballonnormand.fr. The key points relevant to UK and EU customers are summarised below.
Prices are displayed in euros inclusive of VAT. The breakdown (ex-VAT / VAT / inc-VAT) appears on the invoice issued after the order.
For custom builds, a 70% deposit is required at the time of order, with the 30% balance due on delivery, alongside shipping and packaging costs.
Payment is processed by Stripe (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay). Le Ballon Normand never accesses your card details.
Outlet parts: dispatched within 2 to 5 business days after payment, plus 3 to 7 business days in transit depending on zone.
Custom builds: typically 3 to 8 weeks of assembly, plus transit time. The customer is updated by email at every stage (components received, build in progress, quality control, dispatched).
Three options are offered at checkout:
Each shipment is covered by UPS declared-value insurance (up to €50,000), included in the price. The UPS tracking number is sent by email at dispatch.
Reception and reservations: on delivery, please inspect the box in the courier's presence. Any visible damage (dented, perforated or torn box) must be noted with precise, itemised reservations on the delivery slip ("under reserve" is insufficient). Hidden damage must be reported to contact@leballonnormand.fr within 48 hours, with photographs, otherwise carrier insurance coverage may be lost.
French Highway Code compliance (mandatory for bikes ridden on public roads in France):
Installing the reflectors and bell before riding on the public road is the customer's responsibility.
Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (and Article L221-18 of the French Consumer Code), you have 14 days from delivery to withdraw from the purchase without justification.
Exception: custom-made products configured to your specifications (custom builds via the configurator) are not eligible for withdrawal, in accordance with Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code (transposing the EU Directive).
For outlet parts, items must be returned unused, in their original packaging. Return shipping is at the customer's expense. Refund is issued within 14 days of receipt and inspection.

In addition, Le Ballon Normand offers a 6-month workmanship warranty on all assemblies (assembly, tuning, cabling). This covers assembly defects but not normal wear or damage from improper use.
Manufacturer warranties apply on top of this for each component (frame, drivetrain, etc.) according to the manufacturer's terms.
